Science textbook review workshop in Bhutan to incorporate the sustainable waste management topics from Ecology Note

Bhutan has the national 9 flagship plans for the national development, and sound waste management is one of the plans. The country is also making efforts to promote environmental education on waste management.

CCET joined the science textbook review workshop for grade 4th - 8th organized by Royal Education Council, Bhutan on Jan 29th with local science teachers. This textbook review workshop is held every 5 year to review and improve the current curriculum and textbooks.

The review team discussed and identified how sustainable waste management topics from Ecology Note, the environmental education material developed by CCET in collaboration with National Environmental Commission, Bhutan, can be integrated in to the grade 4-8 science textbooks. The team will develop the details of activities on each topic aligned with the curriculum to promote students’ active learning.
