As the second largest plastic polluter in the world, reduction of plastic waste is one of the country’s top priorities. In support of a national initiative, CCET assists the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) to develop the national plastic waste reduction plan. Based on the country’s Plan of Action on Marine Plastic Debris, this aims to accelerate the reduction of land based plastic waste targets. CCET also assists local governments in the Lake Toba region, one of Indonesia’s 10 important tourism destinations, to protect theenvironment.
