This educational book serves as a comprehensive resource for teachers, designed to empower the next generation of Sri Lankans to become responsible citizens and champions of environmental sustainability. It addresses the entire lifecycle of plastic, with a dual focus on upstream reduction of plastic use—encouraging mindful consumption and alternatives to plastic—and downstream plastic waste management, guiding students through practical solutions for disposal, recycling, and ecological restoration.

Alongside the Teacher Resource Book, a Student Activity Book with the same title provides interactive learning experiences that complement the educator’s guide. Together, these materials are intended for use at Science Field Study Centers to support extracurricular environmental activities, helping students engage with real-world challenges and take meaningful action.

Through science-based education, hands-on projects, and critical thinking activities, the resource pack fosters a deep understanding of plastic pollution and equips young learners to become advocates for a plastic waste-free future.
